Glass Dharma

How many of you use straws when you drink your iced tea, iced soy late, bubble tea, etc?? I know my drink is not complete until there is a straw sticking out of it. I don’t know why, but I’ve always like drinking through a straw better than drinking without one…I’m weird I guess.

Anyway, during a trip to Cambodia last year, I was shocked to see how many of these plastic drinking straws were covering the ground outside a local school. It got me thinking, why don’t they have reusable drinking straws? Soon after, I remembered hearing about Glass Dharma drinking straws. I scored some for free on Earth Day 2011 and started using them all the time. Not only are they a green company, but they are made in America, so they don’t have to be shipped from China (which is definitely not good for the environment).

Today, I decided to put a spotlight on this company, because, well, I think they rock. They are a little pricey, but they come with a lifetime guarantee. Keep in mind, once you get a set, you don’t need to purchase other disposable plastic straws. If however, you don’t want to shell out the money, keep an eye out for special events like Earth Day, so you can get them for FREE. Who doesn’t love free stuff??
